Rams news, 8/31

Not much today. Donnie Avery was officially IR'ed yesterday. The Rams still have a move to make to get to the 75-man roster limit, which right now is probably to IR Phil Trautwein.

Update: It's official: Trautwein has been waived/injured. He'll go on the Rams' IR if he clears waivers.

The trade with Washington yesterday was a little weird. Actually, it was two trades. The Rams got Dennis Morris for a conditional pick and the Redskins got Hall Davis for a conditional pick. The Morris deal is widely being seen as the death knell for Mike Karney's Rams tenure, though Morris has barely ever been on an NFL field, while Karney is an experienced fullback with whom Steven Jackson reportedly gets along really well. Michael Hoomanawanui does seem to show he can handle the job, though, so maybe people are reading the tea leaves.

The game Thursday night with Baltimore is nowhere close to a sellout and will not air live on local TV. It'll go on at 10:30 on KTVI.

Steven Jackson went 10th in my first fantasy league draft last night. Because that's where I took him. Got another draft next week.

No changes to the injury list I know of other than Avery (and Trautwein) dropping off it to the IR.
