Camp news, 8/19

Aug. 16, 2010 - Earth City, Missouri, United States of America - August 16, 2010: Saint Louis Rams Running Back STEVEN JACKSON.Schedule: one practice today, 8:15 - 10:30, and only two practices open to the public left now that Steve Spagnuolo has canceled two-a-days: 2:30 - 4:30 Monday and (updated) 2:30 - 4:00 Tuesday.

And, of course, the Rams play the Browns at 6:30 Saturday night. Steven Jackson is supposed to see some action in that game, and the starting offensive line is expected to play the first half-plus once again. No word just yet on the QB rotation, or the kicker situation. More than likely, Shaun Suisham will be back for that duty Saturday night.

Jackson, btw, now claims the team was "sluggish and tired, still beat up from training camp" when they lost miserably to Seattle to open last season. So he's happy Spagnuolo canceled last night's team meetings (as the result of a punt-fielding contest between the coordinators) and the rest of two-a-days.

Injury update: NO NEW INJURIES? THE TEAM GOT THROUGH AN ENTIRE PRACTICE WITHOUT ANYONE GETTING HURT?!?

(Ode to Joy)

The list: Josh Brown (hip); James Butler (knee); Kevin Dockery (hip); John Greco (pectoreal); Justin King (calf); Brandon McRae (ankle); Jerome Murphy (ankle); Kevin Payne (knee); George Selvie (leg).

Disappointing lack of local reporting on Selvie's leg injury. Should be known by now what's up there.

Update: The players I had in injured-last-I heard status were all back at practice yesterday as spotted in photos: Victor Adeyanju, Keenan Burton, Dominic Douglas, Kenneth Sims.
