(from local media reports)

Today's schedule: two practices, 8:15 - 10:00 and 3:00 - 5:00. Massive rain this morning could force practice indoors. If they stay outdoors, they should at least have cooler temps to deal with.

Injury list: Things are still not too bad on the injury front. TE Eric Butler has joined the list with a shoulder issue. Ron Bartell's injury is a low ankle sprain and his status is day-to-day. Roger Allen participated in goal line drills yesterday so I see no reason to have him on the list.

Others: C.J. Ah You (hamstring, out); Darell Scott (hamstring, out); Marquis Johnson (knee, out); Mark Lewis (ankle, out); Jason Smith (toe, limited). Smith (pictured) participated in 9-on-7 yesterday, so it looks like he will be full-go here in the near future. As a $63 million right tackle.

Update: Eric Butler returned to the field today (8/5). John Greco sat out the morning practice due to a sore pectoral. Keith Toston was forced out of practice early due to a blow to the head. Justin King did not complete practice due to a calf injury.

Position battles: Quincy Butler has stepped into a starting corner role with Bartell injured. Bradley Fletcher, Justin King and Kevin Dockery are all in the mix for the other starting spot. Jerome Murphy is getting increased work in the nickel. The CBSSports.com "Rapid Report" also says Chris Ogbonnaya is now RB2 ahead of Kenneth Darby. Can't say I'm unhappy with any of these developments.

Camp visitors Thursday: Ernie Conwell, John Clayton, Pete Prisco.

Other news: Leonard Little continues to do his best Brett Favre impression. Honestly, I can't tell if he wants to keep playing this season or not, let alone play for the Rams.
