Rams update, 1/8: Happy Elvis' birthday!

* Head coach update.
Jeff Fisher is in St. Louis today to check out the facilities at Rams Park. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, who seems to be one of the most dialed-in people in the Rams' whole coaching search, tweeted today that he'll be "shocked" if Fisher isn't announced as the Rams' next head coach within 48 hours. He even says the Dolphins are moving on to the next candidates on their list.

Tony Softli tweets that everything went very well today, and he thinks there could be an announcement tomorrow.

The rumor that Gregg Williams will follow Fisher here as DC is also continuing to heat up, repeated by CBS Sports.com today.

Sounds like the Rams and Rams Nation are going to get their man. Jim Thomas just tweeted a fascinating nugget, though: Fisher's main concern with the Rams is that they could move back to L.A. Apparently he doesn't want to put up with another franchise move like he did with the Oilers/Titans. Fisher just raised himself a lot in my eyes by expressing that concern. Time for Stan Kroenke to give a definitive commitment one way or another, which he would make here by getting Fisher aboard. A week ago, I would have worried that Fisher = move to L.A.; now, he's got me believing his hiring means the team's committed to St. Louis. Welcome to town, Little Elvis.

BTW, today is Elvis' birthday. The real one, that is.
