Divisional playoff: Giants 37, Packers 20

I had to delete my original post because the worthless Packers have made me look so freaking stupid that I basically did nothing but curse for three hours. What an inexcusable meltdown by a supposedly elite team. The Giants thrived off of careless Packer turnovers, the Packers dropped at least a half-dozen passes, guys like Jordy Nelson and Clay Matthews didn't even appear to show up. Hell, I'm not even that sure Aaron Rodgers showed up. Discount double-check THIS, choke boy.

On the positive side, never doubt the Giants when it comes time for a major upset, going back to when they took down Elway's undefeated Broncos in the regular season many years ago. Then the 16-1 Patriots, and now the worthless Packers.

The Packers unimaginably struggled mightily all day just to get the ball downfield. Rodgers had to settle way too much for dumpoffs and useless handoffs to their below-mediocre running backs. Where was Jordy Nelson? Greg Jennings? Bueller? Anybody?

The Star of the Game for the Giants obviously deserves to be defensive, with all respect to Eli Manning's 300-plus passing yards and Hakeem Nicks' dominating game at WR (2 TDs, 100-plus-yards, the game-changing Hail Mary TD right before halftime, the Packers' entire team defensive refusal to tackle him all day.) And it's not a member of their vaunted defensive line. Justin Tuck hasn't done much, Pierre-Paul has been invisible, though Umenyiora had a major strip of Rodgers that actually saved the Giants a TD.

Didn't I give SotG to Perry Fewell last week? Well, let's do it again. Great games by Michael Boley (2 sacks), Aaron Ross, Antrell Rolle... another superb and complete defensive effort.

The Giants are clearly, in my opinion of course, the better-coached of the two teams in the NFC Championship next week, so I'm predicting a Super Bowl XLII repeat, Patriots vs. Giants. I would appreciate it if we all could be spared a Harbaugh Bowl. I can live with one, not both.

What do the Packers need to do to improve for next season? How about NOT SUCK IN THEIR BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR? Their 2012 draft should be exclusively defensive, except possibly to grab a running back who can do anything.

I take my usual bath for the weekend: 2-2 outright, 1-3 vs. the spread, 3-1 vs. over/under.

Screw you, Packers.

Scoring update in the header if anything significant happens.

Oh, and screw you, Packers.
