Rams report, 1/4

* GM search:
The first names on the Rams' list to become the next general manager have gone public. The Rams have asked for permission to interview Falcons director of pro personnel Les Snead and Ravens director of pro personnel Eric DeCosta. Jason LaCanfora says the Rams have already interviewed Dolphins DPP Brian Gaine. More great local reporting.

* HC search:
The Rams are expected to interview Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles. Interviewing Bowles would satisfy the NFL's Rooney Rule, but he's already interviewed to keep his job in Miami, and he was on the Rams' candidate list in 2009, but talks never reached the formal interview stage. In other words, it's worthwhile to interview Bowles; his name's been out there for a while.

Miami reporters seem to think Stephen Ross charmed the pants off Jeff Fisher with the whole helicopter ride business. Ross also says he will not be outbid for Fisher. Fisher may or may not have issues with the Dolphins' front office structure, i.e. he won't get to pick who his general manager will be. As a non-Fisher fan, I'm starting to smell a rat with the whole let-the-coach-pick-the-GM idea. I'd have hired my GM first. Rumors from Dallas have Jerry Jones re-thinking that whole vote of confidence in Jason Garrett, so the Fisher bidding could become a billionaire triple-threat steel cage match before it's all over.

* Injury report:
- Steven Jackson's arm is fine. He left Sunday's season finale due to a biceps injury. Not knowing more than that, you had to worry that he tore the thing and would be out for a long time. Howard Balzer reports that the issue was a minor nerve injury. Jackson's arm briefly went numb. Balzer also reports that Justin King had his shoulder operated on last week and that Rodger Saffold is ahead of schedule rehabbing his torn pectoral, and should be back in April or May.

* Travel report:
Jackson said in a radio interview this week that he's planning to visit South America this offseason. Not to be outdone, James Laurinaitis and Sam Bradford will be in Kuwait Super Bowl Sunday to watch the big game with U.S. troops.

Yeah, suddenly my big Branson weekend doesn't sound so exciting any more.
