Rams update, 12/6

In case you thought the 2-10 Rams weren't screwed enough already:

- Jacob Bell, out for rest of season. Has a strained knee from that failed wham play from the 4th quarter Sunday. Say what you will about Bell, but that looked really painful. It's a 4-week injury, and with 4 games left in 2011 for the Rams, Bell may have taken his last snap here. He'll be a free agent after the season. I can't see bringing Bell back as a starter next year. The Rams need to become significantly more physical at guard and center. But they also need to improve the depth of their o-line rotation so they don't end up relying on practice squad guys like this year. Having Bell as a backup with a veteran minimum deal wouldn't bother me, but neither would letting him go.

The Rams appear to have little clue what their offensive line's going to look like Monday night. This is further complicated by a rib injury to Adam Goldberg. He had been scheduled for an MRI.

- A.J. Feeley, fractured thumb. Are you ready for the Tom Brandstater Era? Feeley suffered the fracture when his hand hit a helmet sometime during the game Sunday. So Feeley's status is up in the air, as is Sam Bradford's, with his injured ankle.

Given that the Rams could be trying to protect the QB in Seattle with Thomas Welch and Kevin Hughes, it would be nuts to put an injured Bradford behind center. The Rams should consider a Tim Tebow game plan where they run 35-40 times and pass maybe 5.

- Players considered limited status: Craig Dahl (knee), Goldberg (ribs), Donnie Jones (ankle), Eugene Sims (ankle). Fred Robbins' back is sore again but he is considered day-to-day. Chris Long's ankle will probably continue to keep him limited in practice but won't keep him out of games. Fingers are crossed that Darian Stewart (concussion) will be cleared this week. Mark LeVoir (pectoral) is also supposedly day-to-day again this week. Who thought we'd be using the phrase, "Good thing Mark LeVoir is healthy!" this season?

Last, Gary Gibson is having problems with ulcers. And he doesn't even have to watch this garbage! Doesn't appear he'll miss any practice time.

Alumni news:
Jacksonville waived Mike Sims-Walker from injured reserve.
Indianapolis picked up Zac Diles after he was cut by Tampa Bay.
