Unrestricted:
TE Billy Bajema
G Jacob Bell
LB Chris Chamberlain
WR Mark Clayton
QB A.J. Feeley
T Adam Goldberg
P Donnie Jones
LB Bryan Kehl
WR Brandon Lloyd
RB Jerious Norwood
LB Brady Poppinga
KR Quinn Porter
RB Cadillac Williams
Wow, I don't know how many of these players would even be worth the effort to keep.
Lloyd says he's gone if Josh McDaniels is gone, which I have to admit I'm rooting for.
The best player after him on this list is probably Chamberlain.
Neither Bell nor Goldberg is starting quality. Poppinga doesn't really make enough plays.
Cadillac ran all right, but the Rams need to get younger at RB.
And I'm way over Donnie Jones.
Other low-hanging fruit:
Craig Dahl's contract is voidable for 2012; he's due for 1.2 million.
Jason Smith is due for $10 million in 2012; $12 million in 2013.
Restricted:
DE C.J. Ah You
WR Danny Amendola
FB Brit Miller
Exclusive Rights:
DT Jermelle Cudjo
ST Dominique Curry
S Darian Stewart
Stewart and Amendola are obviously keepers and could be worth extending longer deals to.
Stewart needs to get a heck of a lot better as a downfield tackler, though. Almost all the big runs against the Rams this season have been largely his fault.
Undisclosed:
QB Tom Brandstater
QB Kellen Clemens
LB Justin Cole
CB Josh Gordy
FB BEN GUIDUGLI
CB Rod Hood
T Kevin Hughes
DB Brian Jackson
CB Marquis Johnson
CB Justin King
T Mark LeVoir
G Brian Mattison
TE Mike McNeill
PR Nick Miller
DB Nate Ness
LB David Nixon
CB Chris Smith
TE Stephen SPACH
OL Thomas Welch
OL Tony Wragge
Rotoworld lacks details on these players' contracts, but I can't imagine any of them have deals past this season. There's a handful of keepers.
Gordy, Hood and Johnson would all be good to have as secondary depth.
Mattison's outplayed every other Rams guard but Harvey Dahl. He deserves a chance to start in '12.
I prefer Clemens at QB2 to Feeley.
And of course I'm eager to see GUIDUGLI in action tomorrow. This franchise has set the bar awful low, but I believe he's a player who could help out a lot next year at fullback.
More importantly than any of these players, Chris Long and James Laurinaitis are scheduled for free agency after the 2012 season. Whoever's the GM better make contract extensions for the Rams' two best defensive players his first order of business.
