Rams update, 12/3

And the going gets tougher...
- Darian Stewart is out for tomorrow's game. He has not been cleared for contact due to concussion but may take the impact test Monday. This is a pretty serious blow for the Ram defense; Stewart is one of their best tacklers and run defenders (last week notwithstanding), and a key part of the Rams' success this season stopping tight ends. Bad to lose him the week you have to play against Frank Gore and an offense that loves to throw to the TE. Also, his replacement is Craig Dahl. Adjusted prediction for tomorrow: 49ers 30-10.
- Sam Bradford barely practiced at all Friday due to a sprained ankle. He is very generously listed as questionable for tomorrow. His injury's serious enough the Rams re-acquired Tom Brandstater. Expect A.J. Feeley to start.
- Also questionable: Chris Long (ankle), Justin Bannan (shoulder). Sounds like Steve Spagnuolo is encouraged about Bannan's chance of playing.
- Probable: Chris Chamberlain (hamstring), Dominique Curry (hamstring), Justin King (ankle), Donnie Jones (ankle), Brit Miller (hamstring).
- Out: Josh Hull (hamstring), Mark LeVoir (pectoral).

Transactions: The Rams released Eddie Jones from the practice squad Friday in order to re-sign Brandstater. They then cut free-agent bust Ben Leber from the main roster to have Brandstater available for tomorrow's game. The PS spot is still open at last word.

What can I say about Leber, don't believe scouting reports? He showed none of the strength, speed, range, pop, power, tackling or ability to shed blockers he was praised for in scouting reports I perused when the Rams signed him in August. I did at least note his age (32) and declining tackle count, things Billy Devaney might want to make sure he checks if he's still around here signing free agents next summer.

Ex-Ram moves:
- Roger Allen and Bryant Browning were called up to Carolina's main roster. Allen had been a free agent; Browning had been on the practice squad.
- Mortty Ivy returned to Pittsburgh's practice squad after a couple of weeks of unemployment. And yes, that was the millionth Mortty Ivy update in this blog. And yes, Eric Young is right behind him.
