Rams report, 8/16

from local reports

The Rams practice today at 1:15. Tomorrow's open session is at 4:30, Thursday's is 1:15.

Injuries:
New dings: Jacob Bell (knee), Jermale Hines (illness), Jerious Norwood (knee), Rodger Saffold (back), George Selvie (back), Eddie Wide (shoulder). Saffold and Selvie did practice but were limited. Really hate to hear starting offensive lineman injuries, and that Norwood's knee is acting up. Everything here's supposed to be in the minor category, though.

Sitting out: Donnie Avery (knee), Mikail Baker (hamstring), Jermelle Cudjo (back), Fendi Onobun (groin), Mike Sims-Walker (groin). Cudjo had an MRI done, so apparently he's not close to returning. Sims-Walker's injury is being talked about as a 1-2 week recovery now.

Returned: Ron Bartell, James Hall, Al Harris, Greg Salas, Kevin Sims. And in a bit of good news, Michael Hoomanawanui.

Transactions: WR Jared Jenkins is back. QB Taylor Potts was released. Not coincidentally, Steve Spagnuolo has mentioned that the starters will see more time Saturday night. Looks like there's little point keeping a 4th QB when the other three need all the reps in the new offense they can get.

A couple of names to add to next year's free agent list: Jacob Bell and James Butler. The deals they re-structured at the beginning of training camp make them unrestricted free agents after this season.

More here if anything happens.
