Rams practices today are closed to the public. Practice is open again tomorrow at 2:30.
* Transactions: Ben Leber's signing is supposed to be official now, but the player to be released hasn't been announced. The only official roster move yesterday saw the Rams add very big WR Jared Jenkins from Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the Lions' camp, releasing injured CB Chris Smith.
* Injuries:
- New dings: Justin Bannan (biceps or triceps)
- Sitting out: Donnie Avery (hamstring); Ron Bartell (thigh); Jermelle Cudjo (back); James Hall (hip flexor); Michael Hoomanawanui (concussion); James Laurinaitis (pectoral strain); Greg Salas (hamstring); David Vobora (concussion).
Hall is the only new injury. Laurinaitis' pectoral injury is a sprain and he is day-to-day.
- Long term: Marquis Johnson (PUP, shoulder and knee injuries from last season); Jerome Murphy (broken ankle, at least 10 wks)
- Returns: Dominique Curry is practicing with a cast on his hand.
