The Rams scored a real coup, I feel, by signing (#7) Zach Diles. They also signed (#9) Brady Poppinga.

Quarterback

Signed: Matt Hasselbeck (#1), Tennessee; Tyler Thigpen (#3), Miami; Tarvaris Jackson (#4), Seattle; Alex Smith (#6), San Francisco

Marc Bulger (#2) retired.

And so has this post; there's no signing left that's going to move the needle much at this point.

Congratulations to the Rams, who do come out of the free agency period as one of the big winners. Hard not to like what Philadelphia, New Orleans or Seattle have done, of course. Don't sleep on Jacksonville, who I thought made a lot of nice moves. Arizona fared well here as well.

San Francisco shaped up as the big loser until they shored up their secondary right at the end. That honor goes to Cincinnati for now.
