Schottenheimer staying

Photo - NY Post
Shad Khan must still be a Rams fan, doing the team he tried to buy a couple of years ago a couple of favors today by hiring Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley as the Jagwires' new head coach. Favor #1 is that he took a highly-regarded DC away from one of the Rams' division rivals.

Favor #2 is that Sam Bradford is finally going to have the same offensive coordinator two years in a row, since it appears Brian Schottenheimer will be staying, barring some kind of evil surprise from the Big Dead, who are the only NFL team now without a head coach. (They haven't talked to Schottenheimer or expressed interest in hiring him.)

Schottenheimer doesn't seem to broken up over missing out on the Jagwires job. The news of his staying led him to tell Jim Thomas (sort of immodestly), "When I first found out, I was able to talk to both Jeff (Fisher) and Sam. It's an exciting time to be a Rams fan."

Don't think that won't be coming back to bite you if the Rams lay an egg next year like they did this year against the Jets.

Bernie Miklasz wrote today that it's time to turn Bradford loose. RamView heartily seconds that motion.
