OC update, 1/16

Not exactly a lot of news getting out of Rams Park regarding the open offensive coordinator position. It's not clear that anyone has been interviewed at this point. We do know, whether or not he interviewed here, that we can scratch former 49ers OC Greg Roman off the Rams' list. He took the same job with Rex Ryan and Buffalo earlier this week.

Roman would have been a good fit with the Rams, and getting to take swings at his old team a couple of times a year must have had some appeal. Buffalo having more appeal throws me off a little. They're no more stable than the Rams at QB, for instance. That makes me wonder if the Rams' current franchise instability is already affecting their ability to acquire the best talent for job openings.

The Rams have expressed interest in Kyle Shanahan, and, weirdly, according to NFL.com, have made a request with the Broncos to interview their OC, Adam Gase. I don't know why Gase would want to come to the Rams, or that he's any kind of philosophical fit. He may even have a shot at head coach there, with John Fox and the Broncos parting ways on Tuesday (and Fox landing on his feet in Chicago already Friday).

I'd tell you the Broncos' real OC the past couple of years was Peyton Manning anyway. Is he available?
