The Rams' preseason schedule is out, and it looks like a good one. My ideal preseason for the Rams this year would have been to play a bunch of fellow losing teams, because losing teams always try harder to win preseason games and the Rams frankly need the challenge. Plus, with the exception of the hallowed Governor's Cup game, I never want to see the Rams in a preseason game against an opponent they'll also face in the regular season. Along those lines, I was thinking Chiefs, Raiders, Ravens, Bengals for this preseason.
The Rams will in fact face two of those teams, the Chiefs and Ravens. They'll open preseason against Jeff Fisher's Titans. He always seems to take preseason more seriously than he should, so Tennessee's also a perfect preseason opponent for this year's Rams.
The one dud on the preseason schedule would appear to be the home curtain-raiser against the Chargers, who seem likely to keep as many of their starters on the bench as possible, especially LT.
But overall, this is a preseason schedule that ought to help the Rams out a lot, and give us all a good gauge of where they stand when they hit the regular season, especially if Scott Linehan has smartened up and uses the starters more this August as he's indicated he will in recent interviews.
Rams preseason schedule:
August 7-11 @ Tennessee
August 14-18 vs. San Diego
August 21-25 vs. Baltimore
August 28-29 @ Kansas City
