Barksdale out for Saturday night

Joseph Barksdale did not travel with the Rams to Denver for Saturday night's game. He has an infection in a cut on his hand. There was some concern that it could be MRSA, an especially nasty type of infection that went through the Rams' locker room a few years ago. That seems to have been ruled out, and Barksdale isn't expected to be out long. It sounds like he's being kept out as a precaution against spreading anything to other players.

Seriously, Rams Park needs to be boiled or something. Swine flu went through there during the Spagnuolo era. What's next, bubonic plague?

Barksdale's injury also has to affect the Rams' game plan for the Broncos. Unless they're planning to rush Rodger Saffold back, which I doubt is wise, do we really want Ty Nsekhe protecting Sam Bradford, probably against "Hey, I'm about to get suspended for six weeks and have nothing to lose" Von Miller? With Barksdale staying behind in St. Louis, I'd have thought about leaving Bradford behind, too. Let's hope a lot of tight end help on the right side will be enough.
