Injury report, 8/6

The Rams' injury report heading into tomorrow night's open practice at Lindenwood University:

* The big one is E.J. Gaines, whose foot was injured when he got stepped on during Wednesday's practice. He's expected to be out at least two weeks and there's some concern he has a plantar fascia injury. So much for TruJo getting challenged for the starting spot. I think this is a big injury; Gaines was the Rams' best corner in many of last year's games.
* Tre Mason may be out the next few days after being pulled from today's practice due to tightness in his hamstring. How many RBs has the Fisher/Snead regime drafted? Five? RB1 tomorrow night will be UDFA Benny Cunningham, and RB2 may be UDFA Trey Watts.
* The rest of the injury list:
- Todd Gurley, knee, limited to individual drills
- Brandon McGee, knee or foot, out a few days
- Korey Toomer, high ankle sprain. That might mean he'll be lucky to return before the season starts.
- Cody Wichmann, calf, PUP
- Doug Worthington, ankle or foot, out of action wearing a walking boot

Back in action: Chris Long and Mark Barron.

The injuries in the secondary have led the Rams to pick up another free agent DB, at Devon Wylie's expense. And, of course, if you are from FREAKING AUBURN, you are ten times better than any possible candidate out there, so welcome aboard Auburn DB Trovon Reed. He's 6'0", 190 with a whole season's experience at corner. He was a WR his first three years at AUBURN. He did have three INTs last season.
