The Rams released five players yesterday:
TE Demarco Cosby
DT John Henderson
S Nate Ness
RB Quinn Porter
CB Chris Smith
Most of the five spent most of last season on the practice squad, a couple saw some special teams work late in the season. Porter is the most notable release of the group; he had kickoff return duties for a while but didn't really offer much of a big-play threat there. Up until this past Friday he was technically Steven Jackson's backup.
Jim Thomas reported the Rams have signed more rookie free agents than usual and had to make moves to stay within the current 90-man roster limit. The rookie FA count right now is 23, so I've got some updates to make on that page.
